TOPIC: About the salafin file

Hi,there.

Through your posts I learned how to generate the mesh and selafin file in BK.

Thank you all.

However, I have a question, that is:

Why the generated geo file(say "bottom" in the salafin object) can't be seen in 3D view, while the geo file produced in Mattise or those in the validation cases can?

Can the salafin file be directly used in telemac2d?

Best wishes

Hong

Hello,

The geometry file is always 2D (the 3D mesh is not really built and is only a superimposition of 2D meshes).

Any 2d selafin file can be used as a geometry file. For example a 2d results file can be used as a geometry file.

I hope this helps, though I am not sure to answer your question,

Regards,

JMH

Hi Hong

The BOTTOM in the geo file can be seen in a 3D view. You will need to adjust the SCALE and the Z SHIFT to bring the image back into the window.

To change these parameters: Right click on BOTTOM → Properties → Display tab

Hope this help

Sorry, I didn't generate the slf file properly,so asked the silly question.

Now the bathematry can be viewed in 3D.

However, the problem is :

after mapping, the area of bathematry points is smaller than that of mesh area,

so the bathematry of some nodes on the edges remains zero.

How should I improve the problem?

Could someone be nice to give me some hint?

Otherwise the bathematry can't be reproduced correctly.

Please see the attached mesh after mapping.

Perhaps somenone has a wiser answer than me but from what I understand about the creation of a .slf file, it is required that your triangulaiton cover an area larger than the mesh you wish to create. If you don't have more geometry to create a larger triangulation, perhaps you could shrink your contour a bit to stay within your triangulation, which should eliminate the effect that you are seeing.

Hope this helps,

Martin

Hi
Have a look on the interpolator in BK.
It seems to me that there is some options for interpolation (nearest neighbour...)

Hope this helps

Hi,thank for your answers. :cheer:

The problem was solved by accident by not ticking off the option"use constraint outline".

Best wishes
