Hi

Finally i managed to mapping the bathymetry on the mesh, by creating new interpolator which i mapped on the mesh by "the map object" tool

but i still have some problem with the mesh :
1/ some points (in the corners) are outside of the mesh
2/ in some places the mesh exceed the outline
3/ When i map the bathymetry, i don't have exactly the bathymetry that i want (look the blue color near the red colour)

This is my t3m and t3s files.

I had already tried to define hard points, to change the edge length or define sub-meshes, but the problem still...

Any idea how can i improve this mesh??
any help or comments would be welcome
thank you

Saad

Hi everybody,

I have two questions:

1/ In the mesh, why at the boundary of outline the size of the elements becomes very greater than the other elements??

2/ as you can see in my t3m file attached here, i defined one density object which is the area where i want make a refinement of the mesh, but i think i make a mistake because there is no refinement of my mesh...

can you take a look on my t3m file please

Thanks

Regards

Hi Saad,

1. Regarding the size of the boundary elements:

- Your outline seems to have a regular node spacing of approximately 16m, (and approx 5m in the central portion) and you have disabled the "Resample Outline" option. This tells the mesher to use the outline geometry "as supplied", resulting in elements along the boundary with 16m edges and 5m edges in the central portion.

- You have set the "Default Edge Length" parameter to 5m. This tells the mesher to fill the outline polygon with triangles with a target edge length of 5m.

- The resulting mesh is generated correctly.

2. Regarding the refinement area:

- You have defined a density polygon in the area where the outline edge lengths are 5m. However the value of the density polygon is 0.

- To correct this,
a. select the density polygon <double-click>,
b. <right-click> to popup the context menu and select "Edit..."
c. set your desired edge length for triangles within this polygon
d. rerun the mesher

Hope this helps... Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your response

Regarding the refinement area, when i select "edit" in the context menu of the density polygon "zone-raffinement", i have a table with the attributes name and their value, you mean that i have to change one of this values??

Hi Saad,

OK, I understand what happened...

When you dragged the polygon onto the density object a copy of the object was made that now belongs to the mesher.
Your original object had a text object as the first attribute and so the value of the new object created under the mesher was assigned a value of 0.

You have to edit the property of this new object.

I have a question for thhe density area.
I can't edit it to affect a value.
can you help me?

Hi Yasmina,

I assume that you're speaking about a polygon (closed line as *.i2s object), so you can edit its value by double clicking on a point of the line--> Right click on this point--> Edit and then change its values.
I advise you do this procedure outside of t3 mesh generator.

Laurent

Thank you for your response.

sadly when i right click, it's dont show me the edit option, so i changed the attribute value in QGIS and i had reimported to BK.

Best regard.

Dear everybody,

Could they help me, please. When I couple TELEMAC 2D-TELEMAC 3D I have a problem when I generate 10 layer in the vertical and I see the result the mesh is not fine and. I do not know what is error.

This is my file cas.

Many thanks,

Magaly
