Hi

I am a new user of Blue Kenue, I need it for TELEMAC 3D. I have a project modeling the mixing zone. Therefore I need TELEMEAC 3D instead TELEMAC 2D.

So I have some question about Blue Kenue :

1/ There is possibility to make a 3D mesh with Blue Kenue??

2/ Can I create the bathymetry (or geometry) myself before meshing?? Or I have to import the bathymetry necessarily??

3/ what’s the difference between “T3 channel mesher” and “T3 mesh generator”??

Best Regards

Hi
I think you should start by reading the different documents available on this site fo the telemac aspect and also the BK manual.

1-Telemac3d use a 2D mesh as geometry input. This mesh was duplicated on the vertical to create a 3D mesh.

2-In BK, the mesh is build from the geometry data. The bathymetry is not mandatory except if you want to use it as a mesh density criterion.

3-As indicate in the name, the channel mesher allow you to generate regular mesh along channel and the mesh generator is for fully unstructured mesh

Hi

I already read the BK manual

Thank you for you responses

When you said "the mesh is build from the geometry data", you mean the 2D geometry??
for exemple if my geometry is a cube, i'll just draw a square as geometry data??

Thank you

How can i use the bathymetry as a mesh density criterion??

I really have a difficult to understand the density concept as it's described in BK manual...

In the different objects you could manage with BK, you could have attributes and if you want to use one of these attribute as a density criterion, you just have to select these attribute in the object and drag and drop the object (or layer) in the density layer of mesh generator.
Take cre that density should be stricktly positive.

Hi

I tried to do this (look at my file)

but i still have a problem with bathymetry

i create a density object "FEDC" with 4 as value, i want inetrpolate bathymetry in this part from 1 to 4, how can i do that??

Hi
As I said, mesh generation with BK has two different steps.
1 - you generate the triangulation (from the outline, the mesh criterion and eventually the density objects, the soft and hard lines and also the hard points)
2 - On the builded mesh you could map bathymetry or other parameter like friction coefficient (This step could also be done in Fudaa). You should have data for this step.

Hi

Ok for the fisrt step

For the second step, I'll use Fudaa for friction coefficient, Limit Conditions and Initial Conditions, this is ok.

But i don't understand the step of mapping bathymetry...how can i do it in BK?? can i do it in Fudaa??

I'm really sorry to post simple questions

I think the manual has missed many important instructions of BK

And without tutoriels, that's very difficult to take hand on BK, i think...
