TOPIC: A simple case of BlueKenue has badly meshed parts

A simple case of BlueKenue has badly meshed parts 11 years 9 months ago #5074

Hello,

I have tried a simple case of mesh with BlueKenue in a rectangle,
size of which is: 1000m*500m. And global mesh size is set to be 40, but unfortunately the result is really strange.
I don't know why this happened, can anyone give me a hint?
Thanks.
Best regard!

Hi
This is a bug that i've found few weeks ago. This is now solve by martin but only the next version of BK will have the patch.
You could bypass the problem by changing slightly the criterion. This bug exist only if the criterion is an exact divider of the length of the edges.
Try 41 instead of 40 and it should works

Christophe

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
Hope the next edition of BK could be more flexible with a better GUI.

Hi

I have approximately the same problem

in some places, the mesh exceeds the framework that i defined in "outline"
And in other places, the mesh does not take into account some areas of the "outline"...

this is my mesh file ".t3s"

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thank you,

Hello,

What you have provided is a 't3s' file with bathymetric data assigned already. Could you please paste your 't3m' file here so we can discuss the problem more clearly.

Hi

This is my "t3m" file, but it's a simple case with just an "outline"

I assigned the bathymetry by mapping an interpolator on the mesh

Hello,

As far as I see, this kind of mesh defect is quite common because of the irregular geometry. In BlueKenue, a possible way to avoid this is to define some hard points at each corner for mesh generation. Maybe you can try this.

Hi

I had already try to define hard points in each corner, but there is no changes...and that's very strange!!!
i tried also to change the default edge length...also no change

I saw that there is the same problem in many meshes on the examples downloaded from the BK website

Robinson2012:

As Christophe said, these issues are resolved in the next version.

In the meantime...
What flexibility are you looking for???
Do you have suggestions for improving the GUI??

Cheers... Martin
