Hello all,

Here is a quick description of a feature in Blue Kenue that I'm sure not all are aware of.

CONLIM file generator/editor Overview
This is documented in the manual in section 2.3

The boundary conditions/conlim editor consists of 2 objects in the WorkSpace.

1. a special "BC" mesh object, that includes boundary segment definitions
and provides the geometry for visualization and editing. This object can
be saved as a "*.bc2" file and contains all the required information to
generate a conlim file. This is an ASCII file and theoreticaly could be
edited by hand but I don't recommend it.

2. a table object (as child of the BC object), that contains the resultant
conlim data. This object can be saved as a "*.cli" file for use with Telemac2D.

Procedure

To create a new Boundary Conditions (BC) object you first have to have a mesh loaded in the workspace.

- Create a new Boundary Conditions (BC) object using
"File->New->Boundary Conditions (Conlim)..."
- you will be presented with a list of mesh objects (t3s) currently loaded
in the workspace.
- select the desired mesh and click OK.
- a default BC object and conlim table will be created with all boundaries
set to "Closed boundary (wall)"
(LIHBOR,LIUBOR and LIVBOR set to 222)

- Drag the Boundary Conditions (BC) object into a 2D view. you will see your
mesh in light grey with all shorelines drawn as Brown "lines and points".

To Create a new boundary segment:

- select a boundary node <double-click> that will be one end of the new segment.
NOTE: only the shoreline nodes of the BC object are selectable.

- hold down the <shift> key and <double-click> to select the second end node of your desired boundary segment. (the boundary segment will be drawn in magenta)

- <right-click> to bring up the context menu and select "Add Boundary Segment"
(this action will launch the "Boundary Segment Editor")
- give the boundary a name (optional)
- select the desired Boundary Code from the first drop down.
(this sets LIHBOR,LIUBOR and LIVBOR)
- select a desired Tracer Code from the first drop down. (this sets LITBOR)
- set the desired values of (HBOR,UBOR,VBOR,AUBOR,TBOR,ATBOR,BTOR) in the
table.
- you can edit individual values by clicking on the table.
- you can set all values of a column at once by either clicking on the
column header or <right-click> on the table.
- Selecting a "Custom" boundary code will allow you to specify a
"non-standard" boundary condition. (as a 3 digit number).
- now select the "OK" button. Your new Boundary segment is now drawn
along with the mesh in the view using colours and point styles as follows:

Custom ??? black star


To Edit an existing boundary segment:

- Select the boundary via <double-click> on one of the nodes,
- <right-click> to bring up the context menu and select "Edit Boundary Segment"
(this action will launch the "Boundary Segment Editor")
- NOTE: setting the code of an existing boundary to "Closed boundary (wall)"
(222) effectively deletes this boundary.

To Delete an existing boundary segment
- Select the boundary via <double-click> on one of the nodes,
- <right-click> to bring up the context menu and select "Delete Boundary Segment"

To View the whole conlim table
- select the child table in the workspace,
- <right-click> to bring up the context menu and select "View as Table"

To Save the conlim table
- select the child table in the workspace,
- use "File->Save" or "File->SaveAs"

To Save the Boundary Conditions object
- select the BC mesh object in the workspace,
- use "File->Save" or "File->Save Copy As"
