Hi,
I'm a new user to BlueKenue. I used to use Matisse but since my coworker are used to work with GIS, I thought BlueKenue would be better (also I can't install Matisse).
I read parts of the manual and I assisted the BlueKenue training at the Telemac User Club but since I have trouble generating a mesh. I tring to develop a model for wave propagation. I would like the mesh to be loose (rough ?) offshore and narrowed (accurate ?) near the beach : from about 500 m to at least 10 m near the seashore.

I tried many things but it always give a result like one of this two meshes :
- if I don't tick "Resample outline" --> mesh1
- if I tick "Resample outline", it is like it doesn't take in account the density lines --> mesh2
The default edge length is 500. The edge growth ratio is ticked, the value is 1.2.
I resample lines as I wanted the mesh to be (500 offshore, 10 at the spot I study). In density I put the "outline" (as openline, splitted to change the values with Edit) and the line in the middle. See density.jpg

Thank you for your help.
Pauline

Hi
For density, it's easier to use closed polygons with the density as value.
Strange result with the first test. If your outline is well sampled this should work quiet well.
I'm not a specialist but maybe you should try to build your mesh step by step. First, with only the outline and nothing else and then you add the other line and/or density polygons

Hope this helps
Christophe

Hi Pauline,

Closed polygons are generally used to define areas of constant density.
Alternatively you can use points, grids or triangulations.

I'm attaching an example that uses a triangulation with a domain that is roughly the same as yours.

Hope this helps... Martin

Seems that this forum only allows attachments with certain extensions.
So here it is as a zip file
