Here are some points for newcomers on the forum, covering questions that are frequently raised.

• The forum is moderated. The first post of each new user will not appear until a moderator has manually approved it (this is to limit the amount of spam on the forum). After the first post is approved, any new post will immediately be visible on the forum.
• To insert a file in your message, don’t forget to press the ‘Insert’ button after you selected the file. The following should appear in your message:
[ attachment:1]file_name.extension[ /attachment]

• The following image extensions are possible: jpeg, jpg, gif, png, tif. Jpg is the preferred option.
• Pictures dimensions are limited to 1920 in width and 1200 in height. If you upload anything larger, it should get automatically resized, but there have been instances where the resizing didn’t work and no image is shown in the post. In this case please resize the picture manually before uploading.
• The following file extensions are possible: zip, rar, txt, cfg, csv, doc, xls, gz, tgz, tar, log, f, py, cas, dico, cli ,geo, slf, pdf, wmv, avi. If you need to post another type of file please let us know in the forum or send a request to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
• We would appreciate if you could compress files that are larger than 500kB (other than pictures)
• The upload size is limited to 1MB for pictures and 2MB for other files. If your files are larger than this there are a few options: try to reduce the number of pixels in the image and use the jpg format, for other files try to compress it with the zip format for example, otherwise (e.g. large videos) you can store it on a third party site and simply provide a link to it in the forum (e.g. YouTube video should automatically be embedded in the post).
