Dear all,

We are testing the new wave reflection feature of Tomawac in V8P4R0 using the example "reflection" in the repository and found out that not all variables are correctly outputted. Attached are the project files we tested, and only 4 variables are outputted, which are HM0, DMOY, FM01, and FMOY. The rest variables are missing, and we could not read them in either Fudaa or BlueKenue. Do we miss something?

We appreciate any help provided.

K.G.

Hello,

In fact i must apologise i didn't pay attention when i created the case that the steering file was not really consistent.

The case is an infinite depth case. In such a case, radiation stresses, bottom elevation and breaking rate are not computed, so even if you ask for them (FX,FY,ZF,BETA) you will not get them.

Same thing for current, as it is a case without current, you will not get the current as an graphic output variable.

Sorry,

Thanks for the information. It is always good to know the reason behind it. No worries.

By the way, is the REFLECTION COEFFICIENT currently a global value? Is there any way to set different reflection coefficients on other boundaries, as in Artemis?

Also, are there any alternatives to represent wave propagation in terms of free surface elevation instead of Hs in Tomawac, as the ZS variable in Artemis? We’ve tried the WD output, and it seems to be simply the inverse value of ZF.

Many thanks.

Yes REFLECTION COEFFICIENT is a global value i didn't find any way to set different reflection coefficients simply. The way it is done in artemis is only avalaible for serafin format.

As for free surface elevation, it is not an output available in tomawac, mainly because we work in spectral space.

regards,

T.

Thanks for the clarification. May I ask what you mean by only available for the Serafin format? According to my experience, Artemis uses one column in the CONLIM file (cli) to store the reflection coefficient at each node, which is the same file format TOMAWAC supports. Simply out of curiosity.

You are right Artemis use a column of the conlim file. But this conlim file does only exist in Serafin format. For example in med format the equivalent of the cli file has only 4 columns and give the boundary conditions by group of boundary segments. It would not be impossible to have such a possibility in med format, but it is quite a lot of work
