TOPIC: Rainfall and WATER DISCHARGE problems

Rainfall and WATER DISCHARGE problems 7 months 3 weeks ago #43339

HELLO!
I modified the example pluie to simulate urban flooding, I got the overflow coordinates and flow, the time series of rainfall, sorted them into txt files, and added to the cas file by keywords.
I can see in the command prompt window that the program reads the coordinates, generates rainfall, and the simulation works correctly. But in Bluekenue I don't see any rainfall and standing water. I read manuals and searched forums many times and failed to solve this problem. I've seen rainfall in forums by modifying RAINDEF=3, but I've only seen RAINDEF in the fortran file and don't know how to modify it.
I uploaded all the files and hope someone can help me with this.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Hello Barry,

I am not sure to have fully understood what you wrote.

I am not a specialist of this feature, but running your example, I can see accumulated rainfall in the available variables. If you run the script:
run_telfile.py scan r2d_rain_CN_geo_hyetograph.slf

you can read the following lines at the end:
~> Data info

- Number of records: 21
- Time range: [0.0, 7200.0]
- Number of variables: 10
- Name: VELOCITY U Unit: M/S
- Name: VELOCITY V Unit: M/S
- Name: WATER DEPTH Unit: M
- Name: FREE SURFACE Unit: M
- Name: BOTTOM Unit: M
- Name: FROUDE NUMBER Unit:
- Name: COURANT NUMBER Unit:
- Name: CN COEFFICIENT Unit:
- Name: ACC. RAINFALL Unit: M
- Name: ACC. RUNOFF Unit: M

In particular one variable called ACC. RAINFALL. That may be what you want to visualise? Otherwise, I do not understand what you exactly want to see.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Thank you for your reply!
Maybe there is something wrong with my expression skills, let me briefly describe my problem. I am using telemac to simulate urban rainfall and flooding and added keywords: ABSCISSAE OF SOURCES, ORDINATES OF SOURCES, WATER DISCHARGE OF SOURCES, SOURCES FILEto simulate flooding caused by rainfall and manhole overflows. Why can't I see the accumulation of water from BlueKenue (I thought I could).
Or I can see the water level change data in WATER DEPTH , but now I can only see the time change in ACC.REAINFALL.Rainwater does not seem to flow during the simulation,it's just spread on the ground. Is my idea wrong or my cas file settings are wrong?
If my expression is unclear, please teach me how to simulate the following two situations at the same time.
1.How to simulate rainfall and water accumulation processes and visualize it in bluekenue
2.How to simulate water accumulation caused by manhole overflow
Thank you again.

Hi,

I'm the current main Blue Kenue developer. With Blue Kenue 3.12.9-alpha I am able to load the SLF file that you shared and it seems to be loading properly. I do not have your SLF results file, so cannot check if that is also loading properly.

Thank you for your answer.
I uploaded my result file. I expected to see the result in WTAER DEPTH, but it didn't. What is the problem?

Did you select animate by right clicking on the WATERDEPTH? It looks like you look at time step 1 at the beginning.

Yes, I turned on animate and the WATER DERTH had no value at any time

If you tried to attach a results file (e.g. SLF file) to your post then it was probably too large.

If you would like me to try and load your file, please share it with me another way and I can try it for you.

Kindly,
Alan
