New TELEMAC-2D tutorial available for download
A tutorial on the use of TELEMAC-2D hydrodynamics model and pre-/post-processing with BlueKenue for flood-inundation mapping in unsteady flow conditions has been made available on the site (Training and tutorials section).
Many thanks to Christopher Gifford-Miears and Arturo S. Leon (School of Civil and Construction Engineering, Oregon State University) for preparing the tutorial.

The user manual for Sisyphe has been updated for v6p3. The document is available on the manual page from the home page.
New Oilspill and Algae documentation available
The documentation about oilspill and algae modules recently added in the last release of Telemac-2D (v6p3) is now available on the manual download page. The document consists of a theoretical section, a user manual section and an implementation section.
New course available on linear systems
Thanks to Jean-Michel Hervouet for providing a course on solving linear systems with iterative techniques. This lecture deals with the numerical solution of large linear systems with sparse matrices (e.g. systems stemming from the finite element method). It is available in English and French in the manuals section.
New community page
Our website continues to improve with the arrival of the new community page. The aim of the community page is to provide a place allowing individuals to interact outside the rigidity of the forum (user<->developers). Users will be able to form and join groups of interest - either public or private, and have live discussion taking place within the group (users<->users of similar interests). The community page also provides a way to follow events that are taking place within the TELEMAC-MASCARET community. You can also now directly send private messages to other members or groups.
Also with the community page comes a much extended user's profile. The aim is to develop a network of trusted students and professionals - developers and users - on the site. We invite you to update your profile as soon as possible and get in contact with users of similar interest.
Note: The profile avatar will shortly take precedence over the forum avatar which will eventually disappear. Unfortunately, you will have to reset your avatar if you had one before
New wiki
We are pleased to make a new wiki available on this website (accessible through the top menu). The wiki is a collaborative platform used to provide the most up to date documentation to the TELEMAC-MASCARET users, and editable by our code contributors. Most modules user manuals as well as the installation guide are already available. Other information will be gradually added through the coming months.
If you have ideas on how to improve the documentation and topics to cover on the wiki, don't hesitate making suggestions on the forum.
Grand Prix d’Hydrotechnique 2013 winner announced
The TELEMAC-MASCARET consortium is proud to relay the announcement that Jean-Michel Hervouet won the SHF (Société Hydrotechnique de France) Grand Prix d'Hydrotechnique 2013. Jean-Michel - working at the Laboratoire National Hydraulique et Environnement at EDF - is one of the original developpers of the TELEMAC system, and won the award for his great contribution to the field of hydrotechnics in the last 30 years. For more information see the Hydrotechnics Award page.
New website
The website update went very smoothly and is now complete.
The more apparent change is obviously the brand new look and feel; we hope that the new layout will help finding key information more efficiently, and provide a better experience. The centre of the page is dedicated to helping newcomers to progress throughout the learning cycle: from the discovery of TELEMAC-MASCARET features, through its installation and use, to maybe one day contributing to its development. The top menu is now a shortcut to the most used pages of the site, regardless of the user’s level.
The less apparent - but just as important - change is the upgrade of the underlying website software to the latest version. This will allow us to bring more powerful functionalities in the future.
In the short term we will concentrate on adding more content on the site, in particular highly requested information such as installation of the system and tutorials. Later, towards the end of the year, we will add more functionality regarding the community aspect of the site. Do not hesitate to leave your feedback and suggestions on the forum.
German manual available
A new document in German language has been made available by Jean Ostrovsky at the university of Dresden. Although not a full manual, it provides a detailed description of the TELEMAC system (modules interaction, mathematics, pre- and post-processing...). It is available in the download section under MANUAL>GENERAL.
Doxygen documentation
An online documentation of the source code of the entire TELEMAC system is provided under section 'documentation'. It includes a short description of every subroutine, details on primary variables, call and caller graphs and development history.

Website update and TELEMAC community
Those coming regularly on the website will have noticed the many changes that have occurred in the last few weeks. We would like to highlight in particular the improvement to the forum and to the general layout, as well as a new section dedicated to the TELEMAC community. We are gradually expanding this section to provide more powerful tools for the community to share ideas. We invite you to provide your suggestions on how to improve the website and the TELEMAC suite (for registered users).
