Hello everybody

I am running a T3D model coupled with WAQTEL O2-module in order to model simultaneous BOD-degradation and O2-consumption. My question which i have not been able to find the answer to in the manuals is whether WAQTEL can recognize the tracer TEMPERATURE from the T3D-model in order to simulate the changing reaeration coefficient K2 or do i have to also run the Thermic module?

Hello Gunnar,

If you give a tracer with name TEMPERATURE for the keyword 'NAMES OF TRACERS', the O2 module should take into account this temperature field rather than a constant temperature.

With the name TEMPERATURE, the corresponding tracer will have the tracer number IND_T in TELEMAC-3D and in the CALCS3D_O2 subroutine, the array storing temperature values will be used rather than a constant temperature given by the keyword WATER TEMPERATURE.

It should work like this, please tell me if not.

Dear Chi-Tuan,

i have problem with display the tracer of dissolved oxygen at WAQTEL 3D.
I use the case file with FORTRAN FILE calcs3d_o2.f {with and without} and can't find it at the result of 3d.
i attached the case file

Hello Kero Feuz,

Running the waq3d_o2 example, I can see the 3 tracers from the O2 module in the 2 result files (2D RESULT FILE and 3D RESULT FILE), e.g. by running:

run_selafin.py scan r3d_waq3d_o2.slf

I can see that the different variables are in this file:
Variables :
- ELEVATION Z M
- VELOCITY U M/S
- VELOCITY V M/S
- VELOCITY W M/S
- DISSOLVED O2 mgO2/l
- ORGANIC LOAD mgO2/l
- NH4 LOAD mgNH4/l

For your 2D RESULT FILE, if you cannot see DISSOLVED O2 variable it is normal as you only give T* name, not TA* as a possible choice in the TELEMAC-3D dictionary (or TELEMAC-3D reference manual) for VARIABLES FOR 2D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS.
Do not forget that you are limited with 72 columns in the steering files as warned in the different user manuals.

Thanks for your fast replying to my comment.
For 2D results is perfect and I can see the Dissolved Oxygen T* and TA* give me the same results.
My question about 3D results graphics I can't see the Dissolved oxygen and NH4. If you could give me an example of how to correct it in the case file of FORTRAN FILE.

thanks for your replying, i want to show the out from the simulation.
I see the DO, NH4,...etc in 2D results but at 3D results not showing.

Hello,

You have swapped the names of results file between 2D and 3D in the steering file you have sent...

So I would say your 3D RESULT FILE is OK with the 3 tracers of the O2 module, but not the 2D RESULT FILE. My post #37493 should help.
