BlueKenue mesh problem 11 years 10 months ago #4902

Hi,

I have been learning BlueKenue, but now I am quite confused
by several problems:

1) I cannot find any instructions for 3D mesh generation in
the manual, so I'm wondering if BlueKenue can generate Telemac 3D meshes...

2) I find it hard for BlueKenue to generate meshes with gradually
changing resolution, can it generate the mesh in the attached sample ??

Thanks for any help.

Hi.

1. Telemac3D uses prismatic elements so you only need to supply a 2D mesh.

2. Blue Kenue can easily produce a mesh similar to the one in the picture you provided. The spatial variation of triangle edge lengths is controlled by the "density object". The density object allows you to supply points, polygons, regular grids and other meshes whose "z" values correspond to local edge lengths.

Please refer to section 2.2.3 in the manual.

Dear Martin:

Thank you very much for your help.
About the 2nd question, I have tried it
successfully according to your instructions.

But about the 1st one, I still don't quite understand.
How does BlueKenue assign z-coordinate to each node of each layer?

Best regard.

Hi
The vertical discretization (Z values) is made directly in telemac-3D (different options exists)

Hi

I think I know your points.
Maybe I just need some practice.

Thank you so much indeed.
