Hello everybody,

I am looking for a Serafin to NetCDF converter. Is there anybody who has such a converter? The aim is not to visualise the NetCDF files but to use this format because some programs that we want to use require NetCDF files as input data.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

All,

Here are some answers that can help to convert Serafin to NetCDF formats. I did non succeed in finding an existing converter:
- a results file can be written in the MED format, which is a kind of HDF5 format,
- a Serafin to XDMF converter has been developed by HR Wallingford (XDMF = XML + HDF5),
- it seems that an HDF5 to NetCDF converter exists,
- ncgen from NCO library can convert ASCII to NetCDF. The ASCII format is CDL: linux.die.net/man/1/ncgen
- R code can read Serafin or ASCII formats and RNetCDF can generate NetCDF files: cran.r-project.org/web/packages/RNetCDF/RNetCDF.pdf

A Serafin to VTK converter does exist. VTK is used for input file in Paraview. A question is if Paraview can generate NetCDF files.
