Hi

Is there a way to plot a vertical slice of 3D output?

Thanks a lot

Unfortunately (for a spatial slice) the answer is no.
However you can extract a vertical profile over time (a temporal slice) if that helps in any way...

1. Select a 3D node,
2. On the context menu (right-click) select "Extract Vertical Profile..."

You can view the resulting object in a 1D View.

Hope this helps... Martin

Hi martin,

I don't see the "Extract Vertical Profile..."
Any more ideas how I can find this?
Are there different versions of BK?

Thanks!

Hi Peter,
It is only on the context menu (right-click) of 3D objects.
This feature has been around since before June 2014.
There have been many versions of BK over the years.
Which version are you using?

Hi Peter,

Please contact Alan Barton at NRC to get info on the latest versions. He is the Blue Kenue development lead.
I retired in 2015 and just try to help out on this forum when I get bored. ;-)

Cheers... Martin

Hello Peter,

You can use the new Postel module of the TELEMAC-SYSTEM to do extractions of 3D results file and then plot them.

You can read the paper of the last TUC: cerfacs.fr/tuc2019-repo/TUC2019_FullPape..._Audouin_tuc2019.pdf
which can give you an overview of the features.
Then we can suggest you to have a look at the notebooks (same level as sources, examples, etc.) where many examples are described. See the paper to know how what it is and how you to display them.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan
