TOPIC: Mesh generating based on a cloud of points

Mesh generating based on a cloud of points 5 years 3 months ago #32667

Hello,
I'm trying to generate a mesh based on a bathymetric pointcloud (.xyz).
Is there a way to specify the points as nodes, so the mesh will be generated exactly at the points?

And the next question is:
I want to model a boundary based on a textfile with points in it. Is there anything like a node catch option? And how can I put the points from the textfile into Blue Kenue?

And which boundary I have to use when I have a water level- outflow- relationship.
Thanks

Hi
All information are in the BK user manual.
You could use hard points for your mesh
You probably have to adapt your textfile to one of the numerous input file format readable by BK, all are described in the document

Thank you for your help! I'm a new user of telemac 2d and look at it because of my master thesis.
I've another problem: After the mesh creation with blue kenue, i tried to build a cas.file with FUDAA PREPRO.

During the first Iteration Step the simulation stops and the error: "Fortran runtime error: End of file" occurs.
Does anyone has an idea to solve my problem? I attached the .cas-file and the error message of the console.

Thank you
Tim

Hi
First of all, take time to read the user manual
Then take few minutes to search similar issues on the forum as some similar problems which are common with new users are already been answered

In your case, the liquid boundary file is probably to short (in time) to allow telemac to run

As a final remark, 2h as time step is probably too huge for a simulation
