TOPIC: Problem with the baxter tutorial

Problem with the baxter tutorial 5 years 4 months ago #32383

Hello,
I'm a new user of TELEMAC-2D and i already checked the forum about my problem, but ould not find any useful help:

I tried to complete the Baxter tutorial a few times but everytime I have the same problem. At the last step after the interpolation, when I try to open the model with the 3D view, the model has no heights. What is my fault? I've done it exactly like the tutorial.
Please find attached the view that I'm getting instead.

Can you right click the dataset New Mesh (newAttr) -> Properties -> Data? Do you see different Min and Max value?

If you go to the Display tab and change the Scale to a high value (e.g. 100), the Z value will be extruded and you will be able to see more 3D effect.

Hello,

thank you for your answer. Now I can see the heights in the 3d view.

I've another problem: When I try to create the (geometry file) Selafin File, the BOTTOM-Mesh isn't interpolated. What's my fault with the interpolation?

See attached my picture of the properties with the different min and max value and the non-interpolated BOTTOM-file.

When you Add New SELAFIN Variable, did you check Copy Node Values from Source? Without checking it, the new mesh will be set as the Default Node Value (default 0).

No, I don't checked the checkbox "Copy Node Values from Source".
See attached the Selafin File with the Copy Node Values from Source checked.

What your dataset New Mesh (newAttr) look like in 3D view? It seems fine in your first post (by setting to a higher Scale).

When you copy values from New Mesh to your selafin file, did you choose newAttr attribute? I am wondering you chose something else.

I've done it exactly as it's shown in the tutorial.
