Did you use Thompson method on the boundaries?
I think your model is not fully closed (at the boundary condition level).
2 boundaries are free and 1 just with water level.
You'll probably miss some information on velocities at boundary which leads to an undetermined system...
The error message comes from the characteristic method, the solver couldn't find the foot of characteristic. Sometimes, Thompson help...

I did some workaround at my boundary conditions and attach them again. I just wonder if 444 is a right boundary definition. I like to have boundaries which are open without any definitions, since this is the ocean and I just like to have the tide in the southern part. Attachments: bc_Horna_o...ides.cli (133KB)

c.coulet OFFLINE Moderator Posts: 3632 Thank you received: 1010	Hi As I wrote, you probably have a system with an infinite number of solution as you just manage the water level on 1 liquid boundary. Try to let the lateral boundary as solid and see what happens.

Is there another option which I could try instead of increasing the model area as long as the boundary does not have any influences?
