Hello everyone;
Could you explain to me what is the difference between the two sediment transport models Sisyphe and Gaia?
when do we use the Gaia model?
Thanks

Hi,
Gaia is the new model for sediment transport. The main difference is that the sediment transport is calculated in masses and not in fractions and that the calculation of the suspended load is harmonised for telemac2d / telemac3d and the sediment module.
Further details can be found in the preliminaries of the gaia user manual.

Since version 8 I recommand to use Gaia.
Best regards,
Rebekka

hello,

I would like to take up this topic again. I have just read the preliminaries of the gaia and also the sisyphe manual. Unfortunately, the difference is only mentioned in one sentence. Is there any further information or a paper where the differences are discussed in detail?

Thanks in advance,
Mati

Hello André,

Indeed, the 2nd link (Environmental Modelling and Software article) is the right one to read and cite.
