TOPIC: Record number for restart

Record number for restart 11 months 3 weeks ago #42613

Hello,

I am trying to use the RECORD NUMBER FOR RESTART keyword to continue a computation in Telemac2D. However, I am getting the error below that I believe is telling me that the record number I specified (8640) is not in the previous computation file, even though the previous computation file runs to iteration 43200.

I have attached the log files from the runs using the two attached steering files. I am trying to use the results file from FB_model_2016_2D_concept_cont_2a.txt as the previous computation file in FB_model_2016_2D_concept_cont_3a.txt. Can someone please advise on how to fix this error?

TIME STEP : 8640
IS NOT IN THE FILE

PLANTE: PROGRAM STOPPED AFTER AN ERROR
RETURNING EXIT CODE: 2

Thank you,
Taylor

Hello Taylor,

In your previous computation, if you write the results every GRAPHIC PRINTOUT PERIOD = 360 time steps, that means if you want to continue your computation from time step = 8,640, you have to write RECORD NUMBER FOR RESTART = 24.
You have to provide the number of record in the PREVIOUS COMPUTATION FILE (from 0 to 120 in your case).

Hope this helps,
